(SB Tribune-Heidi Prescott)  It opened to great fanfare in Elkhart county three years ago, but the American Countryside Farmers Market will close.

The market's final day will be Saturday, September 4.

In a news release, developers said it was not a "sustainable business.  American Countryside has been operating in an economic environment that has proved challenging to both start-up and established businesses alike." 

But they may have other plans for the building.

The market was built on State Road 19 near the U.S. 20 bypass.
